Meet our Educators
Miss Michelle
Owner & Educator
Michelle opened Little Light Studio in 2019. She is licensed and accredited in all levels of Kindermusik. Her mission is to facilitate the development of the whole child through joyful interactions using music and movement, while also creating opportunities for building relationships between all participants (caregiver-child, child-child, and caregiver-caregiver).
Michelle has been musical all her life - singing, dancing, figure skating, and playing the violin. She has a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Northern Iowa with an emphasis in Childhood Speech and Language Disorders.
Michelle has been a lifelong resident of Cedar Falls, Iowa, residing here with her husband, two children, and beloved Sheepadoodle.
Miss Abby
Educator
Abby came to Little Light Studio in 2025. She is licensed and accredited to teach all levels of Kindermusik. Abby brings joy and smiles to every class she leads.
Abby began playing the piano at a young age and quickly developed a deep love for music. She graduated from Northwestern college in Orange City, Iowa with a degree in Elementary Education focusing on Early Childhood, Reading and Special Education. Abby's teaching experience consists of being director and teacher of Waterloo Christian Preschool, Small Wonders Learning Center, and 2nd grade teacher at Waverly Christian School.
In addition to teaching, her musical journey has included accompanying choirs and soloists, participating in a jazz improvisation group, and leading worship through music on various teams. Abby continues to play for weddings and music groups and has started her own piano studio.
Abby resides in Denver with her husband Brice and their two cats.
Miss Maureen
Educator
Maureen is one of our newest fully accredited and licensed Kindermusik Educators.
Music has always been a part of Maureen’s life. She began playing piano at a young age and enjoyed playing duets with her sister for family and area nursing homes. Maureen attended Wartburg College where she earned her degree in Music Education and Music Therapy. Maureen also has a Master of Arts degree in Education from Viterbo University. Maureen is a retired Music Educator and is happy to be able to continue to share her love of music with children and their families.
Maureen lives with her husband, and has three grown children and 2 spoiled cats whom she adores.
Miss Kennedy
Educator
Kennedy will be joining our team at Little Light Studio this fall as a fully licensed and accredited educator. She is a 1st grade teacher at Waverly Christian School and looks forward to sharing her love of music and education with you and your children. .
Fully Accredited Kindermusik Educators
Issued by Kindermusik International
Earners of the Fully Accredited badge have demonstrated mastery of delivering high-quality music and movement classes to young children (ages 0-7) and their caregivers, and can now offer the Kindermusik® a cappella curricula in their studios or teaching spaces. These educators have a deep understanding of how and why music supports early whole-child development, and how to help caregivers effectively incorporate musical play into their daily routines to boost positive growth.
We are proud to say that ALL of our Educators at Little Light Studio have completed the extensive training to earn this badge. Substitutes are either Fully Accredited or on their way to earning the accreditation.
